I got all inspired to paint last weekend, but I kept being put off by the fact that I paint so rarely that I keep making rookie mistakes (man do I love the "undo" in digital art), so decided to do something so self indulgent and fun that I'd enjoy painting it even if it went horribly wrong.
Thus, a combination of pretty much everything I like to draw when I'm feeling self indulgent: floating islands in the sky, clouds, trees, books, dragons/stuff with wings, windows/mirrors, and a blatant self insert character:

Inspired very much by the zepellin-heavy Dr Who episode "The Rise of the Cybermen" I saw just before it. (The painting is set inside a passenger carrier attached to a dragon)
It really was fun, and went better than my last painting (about 6 years ago, not counting clay scultpures) But by GOD did I miss the ability to undo. And layers! Guh! I spent pretty much the whole time wanting to repaint the sky but being unable too cos there was other stuff painted over it. And then the cat jumped on the painting while it was still wet! *has just finished cleaning up the little pawprints off the wooden floorboards*
