Tutoring

In further efforts to try and not be a totally unproductive member of society, I've decided to tutor people every now and then, since it's low energy and something I'm good at.

So: if you know anyone looking for a tutor for pretty much any first year maths or second/third year pure maths who's willing to drive to Bayswater please suggest me.

I can do highschool maths too but then there's the fact I'm not any good with curricula/graphics calculators etc. And maybe I'd need a working with children thingy? And how much do tutors charge these days? A preliminary internet search suggests about $30 an hour.

Bah. I hate worrying about money. Stupid cfs. I will try and have some not-shilling-for-cash content here at some point.

Latest State of the Me

A couple of people have expressed concern/confusion due to my lack of health updates, so a summary.

Physically, I am much the same as I was at the end of last year. I got a bit worse after working earlier this year but seem to be settling back.

I'm in a very different psychological place, though, and that make a remarkable amount of difference. The last year has been a slow incredibly painful process of coming to terms with giving up my career and my old life and getting my head around how sick I am.

Vids to radiohead

I decided I'd try and wash out the taste of all the Britney Spears in Cool vids to uncool music by seeing how many vids I know of using the songs of my favourite band, Radiohead. Most of these are angsty and/or violent (I loves me some angsty violence).

Really fantastic:

• Rodeohead by Absolute Destiny. Firefly as a countrified medley of Radiohead songs. Perfect.
  
• Creep by BradCPU. BTVS. Faith and Buffy and Spike. I adore this vid, it's just the kind of angst I like.
  
• Paranoid Android by Bopradar. Smallville. Lex. This is an epic :)
  
• Exit Music for a Witch by Lila Futuranski. Merlin. Morgana hopes that you choke.
  
• Glass House by hollywoodgrrl. Merlin. Morgana and Merlin are living a in glass house.
  
• Climbing up the walls by Obsessive24. Firefly, Heroes, Supernatural. Siblings. Warning: Creepy incestuous sex.
  

Pretty good

• Karma Police by Super KC. Battlestar Galactica. "The final four. For a minute there they lost themselves". I'm missing a lot of the context for this.

Only ok, but I don't know of any other vids using this song

• Happening (to "Idioteque") Lord of the Rings, the Battle of Helm's Deep. Lacks angst!
