So, what have I been drawing lately?

Fanart: A passel of femslashiness

FMA: Winry and Paninya on deviantART and on Tumblr
A partial inspiration for this picture was getting annoyed at what I feel is an anti-yuri/yaoi slant in the rules for the main FMA community on DeviantArt(*) and deciding to make some yuri to make up for it. While I was pondering this picture, I was inspired to make two Utena AU Homestuck pictures.

A while ago I had some thinky thoughts about fanart and posted them to a general meta community since I wasn't sure how interesting it would be to non-fanartists (eg most of you): Difference in styles between what you like and what you draw fanart for.
Anyway, in the process of writing it it occurred that I might get something out of drawing some Revolutionary Girl Utena fanart in a different style, so I converted some official Utena art into a style I'm more comfortable with while still keeping the aspects of the picture I like.

I'm mostly pretty happy with it (being an experiment I didn't put that much effort into it so there's definitely things I'm not 100% happy with), and it was definitely instructive looking at each part of the picture and asking myself "Do I want to keep this like this? If not what about it bugs me and how am I going to change it?". Of course if you prefer the original style to mine it probably looks like a horrible pointless travesty :D
