Mass Effect fanfic: Joining

I think a major inspiration for this story is all the "and then their minds merged and it was super sexy and awesome" scenes I've read in scifi and Star Trek fanfic etc, which always make me think "Would that actually be awesome?" The canon of the game is that yes, it's pretty amazing, so I couldn't poke at the situation too much. Maybe I should write awkward "Let's never do that again" Spock/Uhura or something. Or…not.

I still can't believe I wrote a nearly 4000 word sex scene (and an interspecies one at that. From a male POV!), even if it is a rather dry and meta-heavy one. And looking back at it, I kind of wish I'd added more meta :D

OMG new "Wedding is Destiny"

Chapters 17 and 18 are now uploaded. The story is also at FF.net (and of course they went down for maintenance when I was four chapters into uploading it, but it's done now)

"Wedding is Destiny (and hanging likewise)" is the Anne de Bourgh/Mary Bennet fic I started for a lark to try out the AO3 beta in October 2008 having never written fanfic before. And it finally feels like it's actually going somewhere at last! Though I think I'm going to give up on the quotes at the start of each chapter. And since my attempts at fixing various errors seem to end up half the time with me overwriting the new version with the old one I'm not going to stress about the many errors I noticed today, though I did fix any blatantly broken html.
