I'm not sure how many people who follow me would care, but I paid a little over a dollar for the lowest tier of the current Humble Bundle GAME DESIGN & ANIMATION BY PACKT and have definitely been getting my money's worth from "Blender 3D by Example".
I do theoretically already know how to use Blender (a free 3D modelling program), but I haven't used it in a while, and a bunch of stuff has changed significantly. Which the book explains very clearly! It also covers a bunch of stuff I've never really learned, like animation and sculpting, though I haven't gotten there yet. It's pretty gentle and repetitive, but I have concentration issues so that's fine by me.
There's a lot of free Blender tutorials online but I have had trouble finding anything that, like this book, is both comprehensive and up to date.
The $1 tier also includes a book about the art program Clip Studio Paint, which I also use, but Clip Studio Paint is a lot more intuitive than Blender so I'm not sure how much I'll get out of it.
The higher tiers have a bunch of other books that look promising, but I'm not paying $11+ without knowing for sure that they're good.
