I had this on the reference post but want to ramble!

They just added the ability to visit other people's islands if you lie down in a bed in your house, the other person doesn't have to be online/a friend etc, you just need the code.

Mine is DA-7321-0243-2801 (not sure if it'll change when I update my 'dream')

You don't interact with any real people, I can see this being good for those who are shy or keep odd hours. The downside is you can't get items/recipes etc the way you can on a 'real' visit, though you can download any designs they've uploaded.

I briefly wandered around

flamebyrd's island, it was a little frustrating not being able to catch butterflies etc but interestingly surreal having villagers I spoke to know it was a dream (except Orville in the airport, who decided I must have swum there, and Blathers, who didn't notice anything was off at all)
