Having fun in animal crossing!
Jul. 13th, 2020 10:39 pmI wasn't feeling super enthused about doing up my island until I got Inspired by three specific visions:
1) a botanical garden full of fossils/bug statues etc and every type of plant
2) a spooky forest
3) a valley of waterfalls
They're all still WIPs but today I did the terraforming for the waterfall valley, now all I need to do is add flowers/trees and decide what to do at the back of it. Photos below the cut, as well as links to various cool Animal Crossing stuff I've found around the place.
So! Waterfalls:

I didn't realise how dark it had gotten, I'll have to take a photo in sunlight after I add flowers etc. It was quite tricky to make something pretty and moderately organic looking that I could still navigate by jumping.
The other two projects are more in flux (and also hard to photograph) but still fun to wander around in their unfinished state.
Now some useful stuff I have come across!
Designs I like:
Rock path: MA-7602-6289-8491
Magic circle
Goth clothes
Pirate dress
Pastel bricks
Nice waterfalls

The one thing I wish I'd known before I started is that you can't move the airport or town hall, and mine don't quite line up :(

It's also ever so slightly harder to navigate but such is the price of beauty.

Date: 2020-07-14 03:24 am (UTC)(Also I have some of those pastel bricks in my game and I love them. The only downside is you can't round off corners for them the same way you can the default styles, but as far as downsides go it doesn't really matter for *cool pastel bricks*)
So cool!!!

I really wish you could copy and edit other people's designs, for adding stuff like rounded edges.
