A bunch of negative reviews

alias_sqbrLooking at the list of stuff I want to review, there's a bunch I didn't super enjoy, so I'm going to silo them off into their own post, and people who only want recs can scroll by.
I'm feeling depressed right now which makes me pickier/more negative, and many of these seem plenty enjoyable to other people. So maybe you'll find a rec in here anyway ;)
Below: Misc little puzzle games, Obey Me, Blue Flag, Mage & Demon Queen, Rainbow Days
Puzzle/Sim Games from the Racial Justice Bundle:
Sidewords: Letter-arranging word game with a mechanic I did not click with.
River Tiles: You have to save villages within a set number of moves or they DROWN and that made me ANXIOUS.
Puzlogic: It's kind of like sudoku and I don't really like sudoku.
Brushwood Buddies: kind of a crafting puzzle thing? It was tiny and hard to see and I wasn't having fun.
Peckin' Pixels: Raise Chickens. Seems fine but I am easily bored by raising sims.
Dating Sim:
Obey Me: another gacha based mobile dating sim, this time about being a human exchange student at a DEMON HIGHSCHOOL with HOT DEMON BROTHERS. The little I saw of the actual plot and characters seemed fine, if a bit silly, but it seemed to be 90% grinding and I did not enjoy the gameplay. It's basically a collectible card game to set up your attacks, then a lot of fast paced real-time clicking to do a dance battle using those attacks. I never seem to click with collectible card-game mechanics, and have slow reaction times, so it was Not Fun. Once you get enough points etc you can like...pat the dudes on the head? And apparently later punish them with whips? I don't want my love interest to be a tamagochi, it feels weird. Other people love this game and it's free to try, so, if card-based dance battles sounds fun or at least bearable, and you're not in danger of gambling addiction, maybe you'll hav a better time than me.
Manga/Webtoons:
Blue Flag: A gentle highschool manga where two male friends get into a love triangle over a girl...and then get together! I could only find the start and end online, I really liked how the friendship between the three was forming during the first block of chapters, and then at the start of the last few chapters it had progressed to something really sweet that followed on nicely...and then in the very next chapter it skipped forward to a future and ending that I found pretty meh. I don't want to totally spoil it but it had that Harry Potter Epilogue-ish ehhhhh I GUESS if you want to be BORING feel, albeit with a bit less heteronormativity. I mean it wasn't THE WORST, and maybe it would work for me more if I'd read all the stuff in the middle, but I feel no motivation to track those chapters down.
Mage & Demon Queen: Silly f/f webtoon about a mage woman who keeps cheerfully hitting on a tsundere quasi-evil demon queen. Just a lot of cheesy fanservice and silly jokes with no deep plot or romance or even porn. Fine for what it is but I got bored.
Anime:
Rainbow Days: m/f rom-com anime about four highschool boys. Pretty shallow and cheesy but I was enjoying the central romance between a shyly romantic boyish guy and a sleepy, quiet female kuudere well enough...and then the secondary romance between a lady's man and tsundere manhater PISSED ME OFF and I stopped. She's CRYING about her quasi-romantic feelings for her female bff, and how much she resents dudes like him hanging around the bff...and he KISSES HER. NOPE. I mean I watched this at like 11pm while feeling depressed, so might have been more forgiving otherwise, but ehhh.
