So after Various Life Hurdles(*) I have gotten back to drawing more non binary fanart prompts and was feeling a bit blocked on two involving games I haven't played. And I thought it would be fun to ask you all for suggestions. Including the original prompters, of course, whose opinion counts extra.
1) Life is Strange: Max and Chloe older and non binary.
What sort of clothes/hairstyle etc would suit an older (and non-binary) Max and Chloe from Life is Strange? "Older" can mean whatever age you like! I have some idea of what older non binary people wear in general, being one myself, but am having trouble extrapolating from what I know of the characters.
2) The Legend of Zelda, Breath of the Wild: Link, post-canon relaxation.
I can draw Link relaxing easily enough, but what's something that would indicate it's post canon? Where would Link be? And is there an especially non-binary-ish outfit or something?
Also, while I'm posting: Hello to the new people following me! Feel free to leave your own non-binary prompts! And if anyone else wants to expand their dreamwidth circle in a queer direction, check out
queerly_beloved and it's friending-meme-ish intro posts.
(*)Which is to say: I am no longer horribly depressed, and my cat is doing pretty well!

Date: 2019-06-07 07:48 am (UTC)I feel like both Chloe and Max dress in relatively (but not quite) gender neutral ways already, which makes it difficult to signify. I have thoughts about how they'd change their hairstyles (Max's bob in particular is probably their strongest feminine marker, so I somewhat doubt that they'd keep it), but struggle as well on clothing. Thinking aloud, I can see Max going for button-downs and suit jackets, it's sort of a masculine-marked and more adult equivalent of their t-shirt and over-shirt combination. Chloe is more difficult, because while Max seems like they have some degree of discomfort with their body canonically (or at least with their body being seen), Chloe has a more in-your-face, "this is my body, fuck your expectations" attitude.
Actually, thinking about my AFAB NB friends, I wonder if Chloe would dress about the same, but take T sufficiently to be able to grow side-burns, and maybe go for a 70's biker style?
The other option that leaps to mind for Chloe's clothing style is modeling their style after Leslie Feinberg.

Date: 2019-06-10 07:22 am (UTC)When I first played Life is Strange, I read Max as potentially non-binary, so it’s neat to see that represented. I didn’t naturally read Chloe as agender, but I very strongly identified with the Max/Chloe relationship, and my spouse is very anti-gender, so it’s surprisingly touching to see an agender Chloe.
