More sadness.
Content note: Suicide
This walkthrough uses capital letters, so, I am VERY EXCITED FOR SADNESS.
CHAPTER 10: THE BRITISH QUEEN
Cardia steps towards Victoria when she offers to "take care" of Cardia.
Victor cries out that she's important to him and Cardia says he's leaving to keep him safe BECAUSE he's important to her.
She leaves, not knowing what will happen next, but hoping Victor will be happy.
THE END
CHAPTER 11: THE ALCHEMIST’S SECRET
Goddamn I ship these two so hard. Also Victoria is the WORST.
Cardia obeys Victor's instruction to run from the poison gas. He promises to be ok :( Cardia is unknowingly running from the one thing that would help her increasing nausea and weakness. And as she's collapsed against a wall, she's found by...Aleister D:
Cardia: Will the government make sure nobody is hurt by my poison?
Aleister: Of course. The extraordinary power you are about to obtain will be used for peace, I promise. Shall we go? To the place where you will cease to be...
As she drags her heavy body behind him, she comforts herself knowing that Victor be will ok /o\
THE END
CHAPTER 12: CALAMITY
Cardia has been captured by Aleister, and instead of trying to escape, just waits for Victor to save her. She gets sicker and sicker, and nobody comes, not even Aleister. She is overcome by heat and pain, and feels her body change...and then begin to emit something like steam.
She whispers "Run, everyone..." and then everything goes black.
CHAPTER 13: A PRINCESS’S KNIGHT
Normal End:
As Victor hurries to neutralise her poison, Cardia stabs herself. Victor is VERY SAD but she is quietly accepting and asks him to hold her hand.
Afterwards, Victor dreams of her, happy, in a ruined city.
He wakes in the mansion. Saint-Germain comes to tell him that Lupin and Impey are leaving. They both talk in calm, melancholy tones.
Van Helsing left a while ago, saying he was going to fulfil his promise to Delly.
And the Saint-Germain says he's going back to "France", since his "boring and sad job" is complete :(
Victor says he intends to go back to work as a royal alchemist, trying to influence the now more peaceful Victoria.
He will never stop mourning Cardia. But he's going to live life to the fullest, for her sake.
THE END
:(
A number of these are even sadder in the context of the other routes, but I won't spoil them for anyone reading this first.
