The Good Place Prediction

A fairly obvious and possibly over-thinking reaction to a detail in the most recent episode (Season 3, episode 9, "Janets") but I haven't seen anyone else mention it.

** SPOILERS **


There was a trolley with bags of souls in it. Assuming souls have been entering the good place at a slow speed for a long time/forever, that's hundreds of thousands of years of souls just sitting abandoned. That bag capacity could be large enough for them to be all the souls that have entered the Good Place ever.

And the general vibe was of a nice office for someone a little eccentric who hasn't been present for a while. Someone made the system and then wandered away, bored or something.

I do kind of wonder: that office looked ...not well used. And it's totally empty.

The mail seems like a super weird detail. Why would a place have mail collecting unless your theory was correct. :/

Especially when he realises they've been stuck in there for CENTURIES.

Right, the mail thing doesn't really connect with existing depictions of soul treatment. And I can't see them putting those bags of unsorted souls there and not realising the implications.

I belatedly agree with your theory!!! I have been late to The Good Place watchings but as soon as I saw that pile of bags that exactly mimicked the bags being sent to the Bad Place it was like 'ohhh NOOOO.'
