Rambly Trespasser spoilery thoughts
Sep. 10th, 2015 02:38 am(this is the final DLC for Dragon Age Inquisition, and ties up the story)
Just finished it! At 2am! COULD NOT STOP PLAYING. IT WAS GREAT. Soooooooo much better than the other DLCs. It felt like the actual proper end to the story, which is great unless you are one of the people whose system can't play it, I feel for those guys.
Oh non spoilery reminder: this happens after the end of the game, and also costs 8 power. So I waited all day to play it...then realised I had to get that inquisitor to the end of the game, and THEN get 8 power (the Descent DLC used up all my extra power for boring sidequests)
And now...SPOILERS.
Played with Marijin, my sensible, idealistic Cadash who dumped Blackwall for Josephine.
When we found the dog treats I thought I was going to get a dog. Not Cullen. ME. I mean, yay for Cullen, they are adorable together, and he needs a cuddly bff, but I WANT A DOG FOR MARIJIN. Everyone else gets a dog *mutters*
Hee Varric is Viscount, now 3 major players of the human world are dwarves (this is the worldstate of my Brosca warden Martya. Also Hawke is dead and noone mentioned him. Or poor Fenris ;_;)
Awwwww Josephine BEST GIRLFRIEND.
Awwww Cassandra BEST GIRL I WOULD DATE IF I COULD.
If someone had told me you would see one companion in their underwear in this DLC, I would not have predicted Viviene.
It was nice seeing Blackwall a happy warden. That was a good end for him.
Ok that dog is adorable even if it isn't my dog.
Glad Leliana isn't painting the floors with TOO much blood.
Teagan is like the only Fereldan not to get sexier with age. Lol not even having minor dialogue changes for the different possibilities for ruler, it was just "the crown" etc.
Awwwww I took Bull, Dorian and Cass as my team and the little Bull/Dorian moments were ADORABLE. Glad I took the time to get them together.
It was annoying that it took so long for everyone to realise Solas and Fenharel were involved, let alone that they were the same person (I mean, I don't blame them. But since I knew it was frustrating). But it did mean a lot of dramatic irony as they analysed the Fenharel stuff as interesting history whole I was thinking "Solas you arrogant bastard". I mean saving slaves and opposing false gods is great, go you, but for someone who wanted to emphasises his own mortality he sure drew a lot of murals of himself as a messiah. And had GODDAMN TRICKSY PUZZLES WHICH MADE ME FALL DOWN A LOT. (ok just the one. But I fell down a lot. And none of the walkthroughs I could find went that far)
Seriously considering rolling a new Solasmancer just for the intense rivalmance feels. Definitely playing an elf. May play a Qunari too, that would be interesting. My main elfquisitor Niamh romanced Cullen and apparently you can get married? OR MAYBE THAT'S JUST FOR HUMANS THAT WOULD BE TYPICAL.
The Qunari plot was mildly interesting.
Awwww the ending slides were so cute and so gay ^_^ I only found out about Sera/Dagna from a post somewhere recently, and there it was! I can kinda see it.
Not sure how I feel about Cole and the bard.
Curious to know what non-Tal Vashoth Bull thinks of everything, but probably not curious enough to kill the chargers.
I disbanded the Inquisition at the end. When Varric offered me the role in Kirkwall and a place on the merchant's guild I was like YESSSSS. Marijin was always a sensible middle manager who thought her being in a position of huge political power was ridiculous, and found the size and scope and religious leanings of the Inquisition disturbing. Plus, it was what Josie wanted ;)
Am wondering what Niamh will want, since for her the Inquisition was All About Elf Power (but not at Solas's price) and she hated the Chantry. But she didn't hate Leliana, hmm.
Every time I saw a smashed/working eluvian I could imagine Merril's reaction. Man, if the next game is all About Solas And Elves I really hope Merrill and/or Velanna shows up, it sucks we have these cool Keeper characters and don't get to hear their opinion on all these things. They could even just write letters if the voice actors are unavailable etc.
Totally failed to save the dragon. I kept trying and dying :( Going to figure it out for next time, even though Marijin is probably the Inquisitor who would care the most.
Ok adrenaline is wearing off shall try to sleep.
