Have started properly playing Tim, the ernest Andrastian Qunari mage. It's funny how characters take on a life of their own once you play them, he's usually very sedate but has these flashes of grumpiness especially when people are bigoted. I guess he's more Leliana like than I was expecting. But he ADORES Casandra omg. Not sure if it's romantic, and have to see how he feels about Bull and Dorian (who are my planned LIs) but right now I see them being total bffs.

Playing as an Andrastian does give a different perspective on the game, I actually feel sad about the Chantry's problems. Also everyone is so tiny and adorable when you're a male qunari. Curious too see what talking to Bull is like.

Did I talk about the end of Niamh's playthrough? I respecced Vivienne to maximise her Knight Enchanter abilities and she was my laser sword of death against the dragons, it did kind of make it feel like Niamh didn't fight her own battles but hey, maybe she didn't. She still liked having her own pesonal dragon.

And then Solas left, THE JERK. But Niamh got really sweet hugs from Cullen so it's cool.

Also I threw away the last 10 hours of gamplay so Marijn could dump Blackwall for Josephine and it was TOTALLY WORTH IT. Such a cute romance, especially as an antidote to all that angst. Haven't played all the way to the end again but am thinking I will at least get to the point where I get to choose Divine and choose Cass, in retrospect I think that fits Marijn better.

I've been thinking about the Inquisitor/Josephine and Blackwall/Josephine romances for reasons of polyshipping and something I find interesting is that she says she and Blackwall are better off having an unconsumated courtly love because "the differences in their station are too great"...when Marijn is dwarf from the carta, and could just have easily been a qunari mercenary or Dalish elf.

There's a couple of possible reasons for this: she just loves the Inquisitor more, if Blackwall actually made a move like the Inquisitor does she might change her mind, she is more ok with my criminal past than his, she thinks age gap > species difference (the Inquisitor's age is ambiguous but they don't seem to be written as old as Blackwall)

But part of me wonders if she's only willing to date my Inquisitor BECAUSE she's the Inquisitor, and thus a "Lady". Which doesn't put me off her, Josephine's mercenary streak is part of her charm, but I find it interesting to ponder.

Makes it harder to imagine how Inquisitor/Josephine/Blackwall could ever happen, at least with someone as sensible and serious minded as Marijn. I have settled for the two women thinking he's cute but too much trouble and staying happy as they are together, with a bunch of wistful might-have-beens on all sides.
