Under the cut: top works at AO3 in 2011 and 2012, as well as top fanfic in 2012 at AO3 and fanfic.net. I wasn't going to do the meme because I find it depressing how it's dominated by old stuff, but comparing is interesting.

The top two are both the starts of series which got updated this year. Also, Wedding is Destiny is my only long multichapter fic. The only new entry is "Avatar/Homestuck crossover art" which has the advantage of combining two popular open canons whose fandoms have a lot of crossover.

Mafdet is still doing great for something based on a long closed canon. I guess SG1 fans like their gen, and everyone likes talking cats :)

Almost all of these were written in the last year and a bit, and all the Mass Effect 3 ones were written in the last month. Because I have been more into writing sexy/romantic fic lately and that's what people on ff.net want :)

On the other hand, being gen, "Meanings tied up in dots and lines" is number twenty four instead of number two. The two 2011 fics that made it on the list at AO3, Blood Magic and Hate and Pity, didn't do as well at Fanfic.net, presumably because they're quite dark and unromantic. Readers at FF.net are fairly predictable :D
