Places I read fannish meta
Dec. 8th, 2011 04:02 pmI've seen various discussions around the place discussing good places to find interesting meta. So I decided to list everything I'm subscribed to in various ways where I could see at least two unlocked posts of at least vaguely fannish(*) meta on the first page, produced in the last few months.

Blogs:
Hathor Legacy
Wolverina
The Angriest
Anghraine on Austen
Anonmemes and wank communities (I have a complicated relationship with these places, but they do provide vibrant discussion):
Fandom Wank
Unfunny Fandom
Fail Fandom Anon
While these are all blogs I find worth reading for one reason or another, that doesn't mean I read them for the meta, or that that meta is substantive or something I agree with or even find interesting (see: capslock_atla, much of ffa, and all the lovely people who post music RPF posts I skim right past respectively)
I've almost certainly missed people, there was a lot to go through and I mainly did this because I'm feeling too woozy for anything more complex than making lists.
If you want to be taken off the post let me know! Suggestions in the comments most appreciated.

Date: 2011-12-27 02:18 am (UTC)Have you heard the story of The List? Back in like 1999 Kieron, a psychology student, sat in unisfa and calmly pointed to a few people, saying "You're on the list. You're not. You...maybe" etc. And then people started going up to him and asking "ZOMG AM I ON THE LIST". Meanwhile other people made a point of NOT asking if they were on the list, and proclaiming that the whole thing was ridiculous. It was hilarious.
