I've been feeling pretty crappy recently, not so bad I can't manage every day stuff but I haven't felt up to deep thinky stuff. It didn't help that the "Turkey Mince" I got from Coles turned out to be "turkey based meat like product" and disagreed with me.

Saw "Ponyo" with oliverm and distantcam today. VERY cute vague-retelling of "The Little Mermaid". Consists mostly of long scenes of adorableness interspersed with brief, intense, confusing exposition but once I realised that was what I was in for I really enjoyed it.

I've been trying to make myself rest, and have found long cheerful fic the most efficient method. To this end I have been going through the top "fic" bookmarks on delicious, it's been...interesting. Way too much slash and SGA.

There was something else I was going to say but my brain has melted.

I'm not sure I'll ever get out to visit you. Whenever I think about spoon allocation to drive out to your suburb it comes up as a big number, and I've just got too big a backlog of little things to do whenever I can.

I keep meaning to check out Proper Butchers but there's none very convenient and it's extra effort. Have you found it's made much difference?

*looks at fic list* Wow, Drastically Redefining Protocol really did eat fandom. I've actually read most of these! It's an interesting list, though, some of the fics are good but not the kind of thing I'd list in a "top 10 fanfics ever" list, you know?

*nods* There's definitely a difference between good and popular. Luckily, popular usually means accessible and feel-good, which is exactly what I was in the market for (and so far is pretty much what I've gotten, though it helps that I'm avoiding fics with "angst" tags etc)
