Terms of Service
Jul. 1st, 2007 08:06 amALIAS_SQBR'S LIVEJOURNAL TERMS OF SERVICE: last updated 25/06/09
ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
Replying to, or forming an opinion based on, any comment or post I make on the internet is subject to you agreeing to these terms of service. I reserve the right to change these terms at any time without warning to you, and may act on new policies I just thought up and haven't gotten around to typing up yet.
Breaking these terms of service may result in punitary action up to and including (but not limited to):

LIVEJOURNAL SPECIFIC POLICIES
Who can read this journal
Anyone is allowed to friend, read, lurk or comment on this journal, including complete strangers and people I don't get along with very well.
Comments
Anonymous comments are screened, but will probably not be deleted as long as they are no more than one of:
...and preferably none of the above.
You are to read EVERY comment on an entry before replying. Yes, even if there's more than one page of them, I have to read them all.
Comments are to be civil and not malicious. Polite disagreement (with me) is not only allowed but encouraged, but please try not to offend each other, and keep in mind that there are a lot of very different people with diverse attitudes reading my lj.
I would prefer if people stayed on topic for a given post, or at least showed signs of having paid some attention to what I said, but realise that's just not how livejournal works most of the time.
Spam is not allowed, and will be deleted. This includes strangers cutting and pasting promotions for their own lj/website etc, although these may receive sarcasm instead of being deleted.
Beyond the rules outlines above, I reserve the right to delete any comment I find objectionable (but probably won't).
Friending Policy
Currently I only friend lj users whose livejournals I am willing to read every time I check my friendlist (too often) Everyone else gets added to my rss reader and is read when I have some free time (still too often) Those who wish to be offended at me not friending them are required to first look at my userinfo and notice that I have been friended by around a hundred people.
If you don't have an lj but do have an openID account and we know each other reasonably well then leave a comment asking me to friend you and I probably will.
Anyone is welcome to friend me, but please leave a brief comment saying who you are if I am unlikely to be to able to figure it out by myself or I don't know you.
Also, if you friend me, be prepared for me to drop by and add random comments, even if I haven't friended you back.
Usericon sharing
You are allowed to take the ideas from any of my usericons as inspiration for your own as long as appropriate credit is given (the more tenuous the link, the less credit is required) It would be nice for my ego if you left a comment saying that you are doing this but all I really ask is that you credit me in the notes for the icon.
Icons are only allowed to be re-used by other people if they are impersonal and do not contain pictures of me (Yes, this is me, and so is this). It is ok to copy the idea of a personal icon if you change it to no longer be about/include me. Someone did this and it freaked me out more than I thought it would. So sorry, but using the actual image unchanged is probably out, but I might be ok with a slightly altered version, contact me and ask.
Disclaimer: Several of my icons were made using techniques and layers from this tutorial.

Misc
- I get sick a lot. This makes me say stupid things and not answer my mail. Don't take this personally!
- In particular, I often get inspired to write a really thought provoking post just before I come down with something, and then get so dispirited by the number of replies that I take even longer to deal with them. Accept this as just another part of the alias_sqbr Experience.
- Try not to say anything too identifying in the comments or elsewhere on the net (eg not my surname or place of work)

Date: 2007-07-01 02:21 am (UTC)You don't know me, I friended you because I R ANONIMUS STALKERRRR.
I'm totally not the same person you've known for like seven years, I just look like her and hijacked her LJ.

Date: 2007-07-05 01:04 pm (UTC)That said, I'm curious. Do you only friend people who's journals you are interested in reading because you are unwilling to maintain a Default View, or do you consider that a good predictor of who you would be willing to have your more personal entries?
(not that I can talk - I just defriended most people who were not on my default view, and a few people who were. I've finally stopped friending back everyone who has friended me).

Date: 2009-03-24 11:17 pm (UTC)Just to be polite about this...
Date: 2009-06-24 08:39 pm (UTC)So I friended you.
And then everyone was blissfully, blissfully happy, forever and ever.
Re: Just to be polite about this...
Date: 2009-06-25 12:36 pm (UTC)Just so you know, for the last few months (and into the future) all my race and other thorny subjects stuff has been on my dreamwidth account. You may read both, either, or neither as you wish but I had a mental image of you reading my lj going "This is all well and good but she NEVER seems to talk about race!" :) There's also an lj feed of my dw here.
Re: Just to be polite about this...
Date: 2009-06-25 01:59 pm (UTC)Yeah, I'm into pretty much any meta, so that's always awesome.
And it's always nice to find other folks who're into gen and girlslash. :D

Date: 2009-08-09 06:01 pm (UTC)Do you have some shrinkwrap glue so I can go through the ceremony again?
Thanks :,)
(I'm a DW poster; LJ reader & commenter. I wonder how long it will take us acronym-mad fangirls to turn that identity into a TLA?)

Date: 2009-08-10 04:18 am (UTC)I can glue you into shrinkwrap anyway if it makes you happy :)
