It's not all bad

Glitch is gone :( Here is a screenshot I took right at the end, since I know a lot of people ended up falling off the server before that. They played Goodnight groddle and I felt like crying.

In happier linking-from-tumblr-ness, here's a wheelchair optimised outfit I decided to document.

I got food poisoning over the weekend, which made all my medications stop being absorbed, which made everything SUPER FUN. Seem to be over it now thank god.

Oh and speaking of things ending, I have basically finished my game programming in Python course: I've seen all the lectures and done the final assignment, I just have to wait until it's time to do peer grading and then get my mark. It was a lot of fun, and I recommend future incarnations to anyone else who wants a light course on the subject. I have all the lectures saved if you're put off by the idea of signing up for a course.

Final thoughts on Fringe

Reading all theses fannish journals has gotten me all inspired to meta!

So: I have stopped watching Fringe. I had been warned that things got annoying in season 3 after the plot threads of season 2 were finally resolved (in episode 8), so once I reached that point I looked up what would happen next and decided that yes, it was a good place to stop. I may watch more later but for the last few years I've found it really hard to motivate myself to watch more than couple of seasons of any show.

It didn't help that the first 8 episodes of season 3, while good, tended to be rather downbeat and I found that emotionally draining.

These two and a half seasons as a whole make for quite a good scifi story, the science is ridiculous and not all the worldbuilding makes total sense but the characters and their relationships are brilliant, and while the "ending" was (unsurprisingly) abrupt and not SUPER satisfying I still really enjoyed the story I got.

I'm also really happy that my original assumption that Broyles (morally ambiguous black guy in power) and Nina (morally ambiguous disabled middle aged woman in power) would turn out to be EVILLLLL and/or quickly dead were wrong. And even if Peter apparently becomes the center of the show in later seasons (URG 'ENSEMBLE' TV AND IT'S UNAVOIDABLE OBSESSION WITH THE PRETTIEST WHITE GUY) Olivia stayed central and amazing in all the parts I've seen :)

So every time I see a Thor fic about Jane and Darcy I have a double take, and this naturally led to thoughts of a fusion of Thor with The Lizzie Bennet Diaries (Or Pride and Prejudice in general, but having it already be a modern AU is helpful)

Thus we have:
Jane= Jane
Darcy = Darcy even though they have literally nothing in common (ok, or Lydia=Darcy and Darcy=Selvig)
Bing Lee = Thor, obviously
Caroline= Loki (JUST IMAGINE IT)

And then Lizzie=Sif because noone else comes to mind and I love the idea of Academic!Darcy utterly smitten with this snarky immortal warrior goddess. Charlotte and Fitz are the other Warriors 3.

Of course it would all be much more consistent with canon if Fitzwilliam Darcy was a Warrior Three and Lizzie was Jane's assistant, but...snarky immortal warrior goddess. And puns. These are much more important.
