Date: 2008-03-30 10:10 am (UTC)I use the GIMP at home [for finishing touches on hand drawn illustration and general icon foolery], it seems to offer everything that Photoshop does that I can see, but I also find it annoyingly complex to use.
Then comics and graphic design people *swear by* PS so much, I wonder if I'm missing something about it's user friendliness rather than functions per se?

Date: 2008-04-02 03:27 pm (UTC)Photoshop, like everything else, is just a tool. Use what ever achieves the look you want. Coreldraw is a vector program but I still use it in addition to PS because I like the way you can manipulate type with it.
