I was inspired to make this while writing up a reaction posts offer at the new prompts community promptmepromptly. They're currently taking prompts for text based fanworks, and apparently reaction posts count!

So I thought I'd write up a list of some things I've been meaning to try out that I think could be fun to write reaction posts to. If you want to prompt me, reply to my offer after the post opens in a few days.

It is wild to me that you have Demon Slayer on your list, because I always think 'Sean doesn't really do shounen do they?' dslkfjdsa

Hmm, I think you must have misread, though I wouldn't put it past me to add it by mistake and just not be seeing it now.

That said, while I tried Demon Slayer ages ago and bounced off it, I do watch shonen sometimes! For a start, if there's some Big Shonen Anime Everyone's Talking About I'll usually try a couple of episodes just to understand the context, but there have been a few I really got into, like Full Metal Alchemist or Mob Psycho. Also, outside of action shonen, while I generally prefer josei/seinen/shoujo for romance some shonen romance can be cute, and I like a lot of yuri/Cute Girls etc anime which I think is often shonen.

I realised it must be a different show, but it makes me laugh because the Demon Slayer movie was called Infinity Train and the Demon Slayer Infinity Train arc has been out longer than the other cartoon and I just had a moment of 'oh I wonder if they were piggy backing off the success of the first in the manga' but more likely they haven't heard of it and didn't think of it.

But Demon Slayer - Infinity Train has been out for literally years, it was announced the same year the western Infinity Train was started, and it was the highest grossing anime of all time in Japan. So like...

Yeah most people who watch Shounen are going to think of Demon Slayer if they hear Infinity Train (and most people in the world, I think, at least for now). But yeah, choices were definitely made re: that show name!

OHHH. I was like "I really don't see anything that looks like 'Demon Slayer' on this list but Pia must have thought that for a reason??". That explains it. Now that you mention it I have definitely seen the title "Demon Slayer: Infinity Train" around but I think my brain did that thing where it didn't connect "Infinity Train" contained as a subtitle within "Demon Slayer: Infinity Train" with "Infinity Train" as a stand-alone title, until you pointed it out.

Also, I haven't thought of The Hero and the Crown in ages. Tempted to do a reread....

They have all been on my list for A While but I'm sure I'll get to them eventually...

The only ones of those I'm familiar with myself are Infinity Train and Scott Pilgrim and I really liked them both. (Season three of Infinity Train is really dark, though, and I didn't like it as much as the previous two seasons. Season four was okay, but still not as good as the first two.)
