Games Lily Might Like

My friend lilysea just got a Windows machine and I was going to write her an email with some game recs before deciding it would be much more readable as a blog post, which I might as well make public for anyone else who'd be interested.

So! A collection of games for Windows, leaning towards farming sims ands gentle puzzles. Almost all are Windows exclusive or I'd have told her about them already!

Bolded are highest recs for Lily, ymmv.

Farming Sims/Stardew Valley-esque:

• Cozy Grove: Plucky girl helps cute bear ghosts find peace. Some dexterity for the fishing but I found it doable.
  
• Yonder the Cloud Catcher Chronicles Very cute and gentle, a little slight and slow in parts but I still had fun.
  
• Story of Seasons: The inspiration for Stardew Valley. Got too heteronormative for me but otherwise very cute. Everything in the series is well reviewed but the Doraemon one was very annoying unless you used a controller. I know Friends of Mineral Town has same sex marriage, not sure which others do.

Crafting/Base-building:

• Nova lands
Settle a scifi planet.

• Winkeltje Run a shop selling items, and decorate it. No plot.
  
• Dragon Quest Builders 2: Minecraft with fantasy quests. Sexist and silly but I had a lot of fun with it. Has a demo.

Point and Click Puzzles:

• Return to Mysterious Island Old but well made adventure game about escaping a desert island, based on the works of Jules Verne.
  
• The Room (and sequels) Beautiful puzzle box, light horror vibes but very atmospheric, no real plot.
  
• Hidden Lands Bland but free spot the difference game.

Other:

• Abzu Beautiful underwater exploration game. You can't die or fail, but there are some emotionally tense and sad parts, and while my poor coordination and reaction times never stopped me in my tracks they did make some parts a little frustrating.
• Scribblenauts Odd but inventive puzzle game about solving puzzles by typing in any of a huge variety of objects.
  
• Little Inferno Strange, darkly funny little game about burning objects.
  
• The World of Art Jigsaw puzzles of famous paintings. This is on Mac now but I feel sure it used to be Windows only.
  
• Jewel Match Solitaire 2 Just a solid solitaire game with lots of variations and levels.
