This started as an email to a friend, but after I sent it I realised I'd missed some, and if I make a post other people might enjoy the recs too, since a bunch of you have similar taste in light hearted shows with lots of female characters and/or queerness.

Crunchyroll are kind of terrible but are the best place to see anime with subs and dubs at the same time. They have made most shows subscription only, but you can get a free trial account, watch everything you like, then unsubscribe. Otherwise it's $11AU a month. Note: you have to click on the name of the season to select the dub.

I couldn't find many dubbed trailers on youtube so mostly settled for cute short non-spoilery clips.

Snow White with the Red Hair: Charming fantasy romance/drama about a young female herbalist who befriends and eventually falls in love with a lonely young prince. Really sweet and well written, with a great ensemble cast of loveable characters. No queerness I recall but does well by it's female characters.

Given: Amazing m/m highschool romance. One of them has a sad back story involving someone else committing suicide, but it was handled sensitively and the show ends happily. Main cast is two m/m couples in a band. The anime is a really lovely get together story for the main couple, the second couple get together in the movie, which has some consent issues.

Laid-Back Camp: Cute show about a group of schoolgirls who go camping together. An especially charming and well made example of this sort of show. Crunchyroll seems to have put the whole first ep on youtube! It even starts with a cute little scene that works as a trailer.

Yuri on Ice AMAZING m/m rom com sports anime about ice skaters. Mostly focuses on male characters but treats the female characters well. Had to be a little ambiguous to avoid being censored but still very romantic. First episode has some fat shaming of an out-of-shape athlete (who isn't actually fat, he just feels that way)

KAGUYA-SAMA: LOVE IS WAR: Hilarious ensemble highchool rom-com centering on two tsundere over achievers who both decide the best way to deal with a crush is to manipulate the other person into asking you out. A bit heteronormative but has plenty of varied female characters.

Recovery of an MMO Junkie: Cute m/f rom-com about a depressed 30 year old woman and awkward younger man who unknowingly become friends in an MMO as opposite sex characters. While it plays with gender, there's no deliberate queerness, and as I recall there's some unfortunate treatment of a different male character who plays a female character "badly", though I'm not sure if he's meant to be read as queer per se. There's only one season, Crunchyroll just has it labelled weirdly.

My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! Hilarious fantasy comedy about a teen Japanese girl who is reincarnated as the doomed villainess of a romance game. She is amusingly oblivious to the fact that her attempts to avoid doom make all the original male love interests (which includes her adopted brother, if that's a squick), and multiple female characters, all fall in love with her. Gets a bit heteronormative as it goes along, no endgame romances thus far.

Mob Psycho 100: Spectacular comedic fantasy about a teen boy with psychic powers, can be very over the top but is ultimately deeply compassionate. A bit heteronormative and focussed on male characters. The show's combination of dark humour and life affirming sweetness took a little while to get used to, and is hard to get across, and I couldn't find any decent trailers so here's one of the openings just to get across the visual style.

Sadly there is no straightforwardly good dubbed femslash on Crunchyroll but I might make a separate post with the best I got.
