FFXIV: Last few ARR dungeons
May. 1st, 2022 09:11 pmThese are the notes for myself to have in a text window at the bottom of the screen for the last few dungeons before Heavensward in Final Fantasy 14. Very boring, and only relevant to DPS, but there's always the small chance someone might find them useful.
Also: I finished all the dungeons and am now playing Heavensward :D :D

Note that these won't make much sense unless you watch/read a more detailed guide first. Also sorry for the rich text artifacts, converting this from a TextEdit document was troublesome.
The Chrysalis
- when balls appear, run into alternate types, kill shadow sprites
- when portal appears try to stay out of it as long as possible, then just before sucked in cast Addle, Lucid Dreaming, Surecast
- In the shadow realm: avoid meteors. Kill aetherial tear the moment it shows up
The Steps of Faith
stay underneath, kill adds, avoid feet
Labyrinth of the Ancients
- left, then right, then forward
- Left: stay out of purple. Homunculi first.
- Bonedragon: kill skeletons. Ignore rotting eyes.
- right: stay on your platform. Kill diras first.
- thanatos: kill thanatos when your party is transparent. Otherwise kill adds.
- center: kill adds then demons. Once demons dead attack central bomb.
- King behemoth: kill adds quickly. place comets on south or east sides. Hide behind comets. Behind tornadoes.
- Akeron: Kill claws. When he starts casting ancient flare, run to a platform on the outside: A left, B middle, C right.
Syrcus Tower
- Scylla: If a lightning orb is tethered to you, drag it to a lightning pillar that doesn't already have 3 rings. When boss starts casting daybreak run to the marked pillar for your group. If you get ice orb move between boss and your platform. If you get fire orb avoid puddles, run to frozen player, then stand in resulting puddle.
- Glasya Labolas: Follow everyone else, if lost keep jumping clockwise until you find a jumppad back to the middle. If you get marked, avoid other players. (Not sure still applies)
- Amon: if you get purple orb, approach kum-kum so they also get shrunk. If you get turned into a frog avoid snakes. If you get bomb debuff avoid others until you explode. At 25% follow to behind ice block.
- Xande: One player per yellow circle. If you get purple mark, move close to boss but don't overlap, otherwise gather around someone else purple. Destroy adds on outer wall nearest your section then attack middle.
The World of Darkness
- Angra Mainyu: Stay near centre, switch between AOE colours. Run out of circle if you get tethered. Avoid cone AOE when it gets coloured. When doom eye shows up turn away, if doomed run to glowing circle.
- Five-headed Dragon: Someone stand in slime pool. Purple marker seek other players, yellow run away. Hand dragon tether to another player.
- Atomos: Focus target shift-F. Avoid targeted players, step on glowing circles. Stand under atomos when casting shockwave.
- Cerberus: Don't target gastric juice. Shrunk by juice then into vomit get eaten, attack stomach. Don't stand in front. Stay near other players on outside.
- Cloud of Darkness: If targeted keep running away from others. Stay near sides avoid facing her. One person per mandala until circle. Kill clouds inside hexagon.
