remixrevival, where people make fanworks based on other people's fanworks. None of these have any content warnings.
I inspired two great remixes this year, both based on Steven Universe fanart:
Nacre (The Double-Edged Sword Remix) (1164 words) by punch_kicker15
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences
Relationships: Bismuth/Pearl (Steven Universe)
Summary: Set during Reunited. Bismuth has a special gift for Pearl.
I didn't think very hard about the context for Bismuth giving Pearl a sword, or what the silly little decorative bits might actually do, and they fleshed it all out fantastically.

Summary: Donated to the Empire City Museum of Art; an unattributed formal portrait, ca. 1553.
THIS IS SO PRETTY plus I love the implied story around it. The style looks kinda familiar but there's no set reveal date for the treat collection this was posted to, so I may never know who drew it. Thanks, whoever you are, mysterious artist!
And I made one piece of remix fanart, for MDZS/Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation:

The leakypen had a bunch of cool fics to choose from, but I really liked the way the little fic I remixed explored Wen Ning and Wei Wuxian's relationship.
