OTOH, there is also Mulchnet, who will do a free mulch delivery - although it will probably be much more than you need (nothing to stop you sharing with a neighbour or two, though), and the delivery timing can be unpredicatable as it is dependent on both demand for mulch and for lopping work.
3) You will not need a caulking gun. A squeeze tube will be enough. However, do consider placing some 'nest-kill' type baits first, give them a week or two to work, and then fill the gaps.
