So I finally posted the start of my Saizo/Yukimura/MC fic, though we'll see whether I finish it >.> Anyway in the process of researching it I watched some events on Youtube, as described below. They're slight but cute.
I also read some of the like 6 fics for the ot3 on the AO3, and A kiss of a different kind (which is a fun bit of first time smut) described and linked to screenshots of the Love's First Kiss Event where apparently MC kisses both Saizo AND Yukimura while Yukimura thinks she's a man??? I mean it looks like the writers approached it in a pretty heteronormative way but I'll take it.
(I haven't actually played any SLBP in a little while, I tried Yukimura's story in the current event and it was very silly)
Counting The Stars:
Nobuyuki pressures Yukimura and MC into playing a couple in a play, and makes a point of mentioning that there's a folk story about how people who play this couple stay together forever? What are you doing, Nobuyuki, you weirdo.
Also apparently Yukimura and Nobuyuki's parents played the couple 20 years ago.
Yukimura is paralysed with stuttering, blushing embarrassment. When he sees MC in her costume he is overcome by how beautiful she is.
MC is also embarrassed, but more on the principle of the thing, and on Yukimura's behalf. She's mostly just annoyed that Saizo isn't acting jealous, not because Yukimura is a threat but just on principle. Also she's sad that Saizo's so reticent to be open about their relationship, she can't imagine him ever expressing his love for her on a big stage.
Saizo acts like he's unconcerned but does understated things to make MC happy, like quietly telling mini-Sasuke to help with her kimono. He's stuck doing security during the play, and says "It's not like I can say 'But I'm having sex with her'".
Adult-Sasuke manages to get mistaken for MC's husband, his ability to be shippy with everyone overcoming even the Radiance/Shadow divide. (Also he's mini-Sasuke's dad??) MC is just happy to be seen as part of ANYONE'S family.
...Yukimura stays up all night PRACTICING KISSING A PILLOW and makes himself so sick Sasuke has to take over the role??
MC is a terrible actress until she decides to try and make sure her words make it to Saizo, aw. During the final kiss, Sasuke makes as if to actually kiss her, but Saizo suddenly shows up, says a few romantically possessive lines, and carries her off in his arms.
SO THEN YUKIMURA TAKES OVER MC'S PART?? It's not clear whether Sasuke kisses him, but apparently things end in a thrilling fight scene.
It's becomes clear that Saizo was secretly watching all the rehearsals, and he quotes some of the romantic lines at MC.
The Bride's Memories - Saizo:
The main plot of this is a pretty blah story about visiting a village where Saizo supposedly killed an innocent girl and he refuses to defend himself but IT WAS ALL A MISUNDERSTANDING.
But it has some MC/Saizo/Yukimura moments.
MC: Even if you are right, even if he strays from the path that makes him human...even at those times, I am with him, and if the day comes that I must walk that dark path, I will become a child of darkness too.
Saizo: MC and I will be sleeping with you in your room tonight, dear :)
MC: We what now?
Yukimura: Ngh?! Wha...what did you...sleeping in the same room as a woman...?! I couldn't...
Saizo: I'll be right there to help you, so it shouldn't be that much of a problem, little lord.
Yukimura: Yeah but...is it alright with you, MC? Being with...in the same room with us.
MC: I am. As long as Saizo's there, I'm fine.
(Saizo just wants to keep MC safe from the Angry Mob, but naturally does not explain this to Yukimura)
As they're escaping the angry mob, Yukimura suddenly stops and goes "Ahhhh! I'm sorry, I forgot...this was supposed to be your honeymoon!"
Saizo: We're thinking of something that doesn't have to happen again, aren't we dear.
Yukimura: I'M ORDERING YOU TWO TO GO HAVE FUN.
MC: ...you've got to be kidding...
But neither of them can go against a direct order from Yukimura so they just share a silent look.
When they're alone, Saizo is awkwardly quiet, and then says "Are you going to ask me anything?"
MC: If you're not able to talk about it, I won't ask you. No matter what happens, or what happened, nothing will change the fact that I am always with you.
And of course it turns out he didn't kill the girl but is still consumed with guilt and self hatred anyway.
She knows to look for him on the roof of the tallest building in town, though she slips on the final step of the ladder because she ALWAYS DOES.
MC: Call me a hot water bottle again and I swear in my life I'll leave you.
Saizo: No you won't :)
MC insists on Saizo being the one to pick out Yukimura's gift, since it would make him so happy, Saizo mutters that this is a pain in the ass but doesn't disagree.
The angry mob tied MC up with an obi cord Saizo gave her, so she's emotionally attached to the resulting rope burns and sad they're fading. To cheer her up, Saizo bites her in the same place, leaving a mark, which she is Into.
Saizo: It's alright. Go on and tell me just what it is you want ;) Anything, a fancy new cord or otherwise.
MC: You know I'll always choose to have you stay.
Saizo: I don't mind. If my little lady is going to insist that where I go, she goes too...then that means that where she goes, I go, surely.
MC: Saizo <3
Saizo: But I am absolutely not buying us a house.
MC: Ahaha. Then I want seasonal manju. And a new rice paddle.
Saizo: Be a little more carnally minded, would you?
MC: Ok, well then...how about matching chopsticks? We could eat together!
Saizo: ...yes dear.

It's interesting to me because I feel like this is the difference between MC and Yukimura. I think Yukimura is very much framed as Saizo's light, whereas MC is willing to become a child of darkness for him. And come to think of it, I think that most of their significant scenes happen at night?
And now I wish canon had played with that more! Because I really want MC to join the evil, traumatized ninja nation. >_>
And the final dialogue is sweet and adorable. AND ALSO MATCHING CHOPSTICKS.

Right?? Fake dating with the LI's best friend is certainly a Choice.
I think Yukimura is very much framed as Saizo's light, whereas MC is willing to become a child of darkness for him.

And he's the other half of the common route! So it's not "dating the LI's best friend with no sexual tension", it's "there was setup and we were one choice away from making this the route!".
