I didn't think I'd enjoy Hanzo's event but then he got shippy with Ieyasu, and it turns out the way to make me like these kinds of smug, insulting characters is to smoosh them together. He was also moderately cute with MC, in his way.

I have nothing better to do, let's see what this guy is like. He has such a mean face, though!

Apparently ever since becoming lovers with MC, Hanzo has developed a habit of dragging her into Ieyasu's chambers for their war meetings?

Ieyasu, who has a boyish face and mop of dark blonde hair, and Hanzo, who has small narrow eyes and long silver hair. Text: The two of them smile at one another, as always seems to be the case lately.
Oh no it's a jerk double combo D:

They discuss how great it would be if Nobunaga and Shingen's armies wiped each other out, letting Ieyasu take over Japan.

MC later tells Hanzo (who she calls "Master Hattori") that it would be nice to be stable under Ieyasu's divine rule, keeping her low opinion of his 'slightly terrible' personality to herself.

Hanzo giggles and says "It was a joke. His lordship is but a young tanuki." TAUNKI!IEYASU CONFIRMED.

MC finds herself sympathising with Ieyasu, who seems to have been taken in by Hanzo's joking, just as she often is. Not sure if this makes me happy because Ieyasu is suffering, or anxious because god, if Ieyasu is the nice one here...

MC: You're dreadful.
Hanzo: I have overestimated his Lordship if he would swallow such a line without question. Anyway, enough of the little tanuki, I haven't dallied with you today as I wish.
MC: What about the medicine I'm making?
Hanzo, being all sexy with his hands: What medicine?
MC: Never mind >.>

She thinks that he treats her like a beloved toy but she's into it.

Haa and now Shingen's men are the Huge Scary Army Trying To Take Over. I like how this game cheerfully casts love interests as villains on other routes, without changing anyone's characters or actions. Shadow!MC proves herself to be very much not Radiance!MC by thinking "Well, if war is what it takes to unify the country, so be it".

One of Ieyasu's retainers, Tadaktsu, is hitting on MC, which seems kinda suicidal from what I've seen of Hanzo's character.

Hanzo: Dear me, surely you're not so lacking in mental acuity that you think it wise to attack Shingen...
Ieyasu: You're not the boss of me! *throws teacup*

I kind of want them to kill each other. Sorry MC.

MC finds Hanzo bleeding, loomed over by a furious Ieyasu.
Hanzo: Hello MC ^_^
MC: D: D:

She takes him back to his chambers and fusses over his wounds, he doesn't twitch even when she knows the salve must sting.
MC: What was all that about?
Hanzo: I thought our young tanuki was sweet, but he bared his fangs when I suggested he be less overeager at the prospect of war with Shingen ^_^
MC: Why would you want to stop him?
Hanzo: Because he has no hope of winning. What master would neglect a darling pet to the point of allowing it to run into danger?

Ok now I'm kinda shipping Hanzo/Ieyasu...(and Shadow!MC/Radiance!MC, they'd be adorable, and so much nicer to each other)

Even MC is like "I guess this is Hanzo's way of showing he cares about Ieyasu".

MC is distressed to find the medicine hasn't had any effect, and Hanzo reminds her that everyone in his village is dosed with poison from childhood to make them immune (or dead), and so he is also immune to medicine. Sure, that is absolutely how bodies work.

He cheerfully agrees with her worry that he would easily die if he ever got badly wounded or sick, and seems cheerfully baffled that this upsets her. She thinks "did he grow up in a world where his own emotions nor those of others meant anything at all?"

Ieyasu ignores Hanzo's advice not to prepare for war with Shingen, and instead of needling him like usual, Hanzo just sighs, and gets kicked out of the war room.
Hanzo: Ill-behaved little tanuki, perhaps a heavier hand would have him trained better.
MC: You treasure Lord Ieyasu greatly, don't you?
Hanzo: Lol what

Ieyasu: Don't come with us to war, you'll just be a burden >:(
Hanzo: I see ^_^

MC finds Hanzo in his chambers, clutching a small jar of wound salve belonging to Ieyasu, that was left in front of Hanzo's door. She attempts to persuade Hanzo that Ieyasu made it himself as an apology and is trying to keep Hanzo safe.
Hanzo: Ahh, you are magnificent. Even naivete must have it's limits, my love.

The Saito-looking ninja Kiyohiro (who I am pretty sure was called "Hanzo" on Mitsuhide's path) comes to say that Ieyasu has been captured and in danger.
Hanzo: His Lordship requires far too much work. Look after this place while I'm gone.
MC: Wait!
Hanzo: Ah, you want me to stay with you instead?
MC: No. But...you may not have noticed, but I don't want you to die.

She thinks about how he really doesn't understand the whole "being in love with him" thing but doesn't bother to try and explain.
MC: Why exactly are you going to help Lord Ieyasu?
Hanzo: I am going to oversee my pretty little tanuki's endeavors and ensure he doesn't die. One must use a gentle hand when it comes to animals. After all, they are helpless to accomplish anything on their own.
MC: That's not the reason and you know it. You don't think of him as a pet. You don't want him to die because of the man he is, and what that means to you. It's the same for me. I value you for who you are. I love you for who you are, and so I don't want you to die.

She just blatantly equated his feeling for Ieyasu to hers for him, wow.

He stares at her for a while, then tells her she's fascinating, and turns and leaves for battle.

Hanzo's POV! He 'doesn't dare' look back, aww.

Ieyasu: There's no need for you here >:(
Hanzo: Bold words from someone who looks like a a dirty rag ^_^

He dances around Ieyasu with an efficient and terrible beauty, killing all his assailants.

Hanzo: That medicine you left for me was terrible, half the ingredients were toxic. I hope you know I shall not praise you for such naughty behaviour :)
Ieyasu: Hmmph. It would have to be at least that poisonous to have any effect on a serpent like you.
Hanzo: Haha, quite right. *kills more people* But you should pull out now, while you have the chance.
Ieyasu: This isn't like you.
Hanzo: The thought of leaving a young tanuki to such a sad demise sits uneasy on my conscience. Though that is not reason enough...I shall carve a path of retreat.
Ieyasu, in a small voice: I will not tolerate you dying here.
Hanzo: What an odd thing to say. Who exactly do you think I am?
Ieyasu: A snakey bastard :)
Hanzo: I should say the same to you, your Lordship. Dying a dog's death by the side of the road will not earn you Divine Rule.
Ieyasu: And I'll ask back- who do you think I am?

MC is happy to see Ieyasu and his men return...until she realises Hanzo's not with them.
Ieyasu: Oi. There's no way he would have died.

When Hanzo finally returns, battered and bloody, MC bursts into tears and he heaves a dramatic sigh before pulling her into a kiss, then asking if that's quieted her.

A few days later MC is feeling frustrated that she can't do more for Hanzo's wounds. He gets her to apply Ieyasu's medicine, and then says that while she is generally ineffectual, she has the power to love someone like him, which is more than enough.
MC: I find you very easy to love.

He kisses her, not in a sexy way, but with affection, and she throws her arms around him in triumph.

And then she persuads him to invite Ieyasu for a threesome, the end.

I think I like Hanzo with Ieyasu better than with MC. They can sit around being awful at each other.
