I thought the Fearful Heart ones weren't the best written, but they were a pretty good way of getting to know people. Yes, Kenshin is super-sweet, but somehow doesn't always get the best written stories. It feels almost like the writers don't quite know how to inhabit the mind of someone so focused on aesthetics. Masamune isn't someone I thought a lot about before this ES but now I want to do his main route (when I get to it...). Ieyasu...well, I respect this game's commitment to not making him somehow the bestest just because he won in the end.

I loved the AU Saizo route mostly for how awesome MC is. Their relationship seemed to help her become not just more powerful but also braver and more sure of herself. It was the first ES I've seen of his that made me interested in him.

I'm glad you're enjoying Yukimura's route! I haven't done his main route yet but I liked him in Shingen's route, he's kind and earnest and good-natured in a way that is rare in this game. My favorite ES of his pitted him against Hideyoshi, which was brilliant because they deal with life in such opposite ways.
