Shiny cheery post

lilysea, since she missed me on the phone. Also, happy posts are fun)
Today was great. Went to
theducks and
lizbyrds engage-ama-christmengagement party and drove all the way there and back: over an hour for my logbook, and I didn't run over a single pedestrian! Just now my mother in law rang up to say they'd visit us for xmas to save us the drive to rockingham and I was like "No really, we don't mind" :)
FINALLY met
flyingblogspot, who I've seen on so many people I know's ljs that I assumed I must know her, but as it turns out I didn't (but I do now) There was an amusing amount of "Do I know you? What's you lj username? Oh wow! I know you!"
Had very nice conversations on the verandah with tasty sophie friendly food *looks at that sentence. Realises it doesn't say what I mean it to. Decides to leave it as is*
On the way out
distantcam got to show ff his manliness by helping
dr_jekyl change a tire.
And just now we saw "The Simpsons Movie", which was fun, though I think it would have been better on the big screen. Next, episode one of Life on Mars!
Saw pilot of "Northern exposure" last night as an alternative exercise tv show to Star Trek DS9, it's actually as good as I remember, which is a nice suprise. Though Dr Joel has gone from "Cute but kinda old" to "cute but kinda young" :) (EDIT: except he was actually the same age as me. I suck at guessing ages :))

Hee! It gets easier. I think there's been a substantial improvement in my driving since May 2007. Still need to get better at merging tho.

I've really been enjoying Northern Exposure - saw it for the first time ever this year and loved it. Loved the quirkyness and the optimism. (:
I thought Ed Chigliak was very cute (which I thought was kinda wrong because he's playing a character who is too young for me, so I looked him up on IMDB and the actor was aged 24-29 throughout filming).
I also thought Chris Stevens was very cute.
