Mystic Messenger: Yoosung, Valentines DLC

Exactly the short, inoffensive, but not very interesting post-canon fluff I was expecting.
(Hardly anyone voted for this but I felt like playing it anyway. I NEVER CLAIMED THIS DREAMWIDTH WAS A DEMOCRACY)
Yoosung is dressed in sensible grownup clothes, and the voice actor is using the deeper Grownup Yoosung voice. I guess this is the future! From context it's been like 3-5 years.
Yoosung: Do you remember what our date concept is today?
Choices: "The king and the servant. I'm the king" vs "The martian and the venusian"
These are both...such good choices...
Yoosung: I'll win rock paper scissors next time!
Me: That's an adorable way to be switchy
Yoosung: Wait, that's the game we play when we wash the dishes. Our thing today is to recreate our first date!
FINE. I GUESS >:(
Then he asks what nickname he used to use for her and my choices are Noona(*), Master, Honey, and Coordinator.
(*)which literally means "big sister", but is used as an affectionate term for an older woman. They always translated these terms into something like "lovely Zen" before, but I guess they're assuming anyone who's paid for this DLC is enough of a nerd to know a little Korean lol.
Let's follow the theme and go for "Master". You may not be willing to give me overt femdom outside of bad ends, Cheritz, but I'm still following my dreams.
Omg the correct answer was Coordinator?? HOW ROMANTIC
Yoosung reminisces about being a university student who gamed all the time, since he doesn't play LOLOL any more. He deliberately raises his voice, saying her learned to lower it to work with patients, I guess to be taken more seriously. Overall he's gotten very normal :/
Ok now I'm getting a "lovely Yoosung", why would an otome player know the endearments for women and not men?? Haa yep it was definitely oppa (the male equivalent of noona) and he got a little flustered.
Game, I KNOW how they first met, you SHOWED me, and it was not on a date!
They go to see the movie "Mi Mi Land", which is a cute play on "La La Land".
Seven recently showed up at Yoosung's vet hospital asking for treatment for back pain, and when Yoosung refused Seven put on a cat headband and said he was a cat. Ha so Yoosung took out a big syringe and Seven ran away.
MC: Hot.
Yoosung: ;)
I like that they're still all friends but Yoosung's not as susceptible to Seven's tricks.
He describes their lunch in the English as "bento boxes" but I don't think I heard the word "bento", I guess it does get the concept across to weeby otome nerds who know more Japanese than Korean (like me). Aw, he cooked them himself?? "I have someone at home who encourages my cooking".
And then...A DOG SHOWS UP!!! Yoosung is very friendly-yet-sensible-vet about checking the dog out and then finding it's owner. He's also very solicitous about MC feeling scared/tired etc.
The dog's voice actor is VERY CLEARLY a human dude saying "woof", and thus evidently a dogboy dealing with some curse etc, a la Dandelion.
Yoosung talks about how MC's made him happy and given him direction and it's all very sweet. Very conventional though, that whole wish fulfilment of a nice normal sweet successful husband (also tall, now, dammit). Which is...fine. I'm glad they're happy. But I'm also glad this was short.
Took some of the other choices!
Yoosung: Two aliens take over the earth? I'm checking my notes and that's what we're doing on April Fools's Day.
Ok so they do do dumbass roleplay. And he has it...in his organiser? Ok then.
I picked "noona" and he laughed and called her it a few times, saying "ask me to call you that whenever you like".
He gets very endearingly flustered when she says she wants to see a horror movie. "I'll close my eyes but if it's what my wife- I mean my future wife wants..." haha.
As always, the moments where it felt like the game was trying to get me to imagine him talking to me-the-player rather than MC made me VERY UNCOMFORTABLE, even though older!Yoosung (though more like 20 years older) wouldn't be a totally terrible match for me, as conventional straight dudes go. But I guess MC is very much not me, nor someone whose life I would want, so blurring the two of us together feels very weird.
