Crunchyroll Queue Challenge
Feb. 4th, 2019 10:35 pmI've decided to try to watch one episode of everything in my Crunchyroll Queue, because way too much just sits there unwatched. I don't know if I'm going to succeed, but we'll see! If nothing else maybe this will inspire me to remove some things.
Below the cut: My 54(!) queued shows, and the four I ticked off today.
(Crunchyroll is an anime streaming site whose catalogue varies a little between countries)
So. Here's my current, TRULY RIDICULOUS queue, in its entirety, from top to bottom. The order is mostly just from when I added things. Links are to trailers/openings where I could find them. An asterix means I got partway through Episode 1.
One motivation is that Cam is away so I need something to keep me distracted. One handicap is that my "p" key is broken, but that's not going to sto me! (pretty much every p in this post is cut and pasted. I have a wireless keyboard I can use instead but I find the laptop one so much more natural I can't be bothered. At least it's not my "e" key this time...)
Hunter x Hunter: Episode 1
This was a lot of fun! Fluffy shonen set in Shonen Fantasy Land, where an optimistic, energetic 12 year old boy sets out to become a Hunter like his Father before him, who he has never met. Shenanigans! Excitement! The power of friendship! *keeps*
Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju: Episode 1
This is very good, still not sure if it's my sort of show but I will definitely watch the next episode. A subtle, interesting drama. It starts in 1970s Japan with a thief who saw a rakugo (traditional Japanese one-man comedy) show by the famous Yakumo while in prison. The moment he gets out of prison the thief begs the crotchety Yakumo to be his teacher. We learn about Yakumo's messy situation with his dead ex-friend whose daughter he is raising, apparently the bulk of the first season is set back in the 40s and 50s when Yakumo and his friend were learning rakugo together. *keeps*
Mob Psycho 100: Surreal, funny, and surprisingly affecting show about a shy teenage boy with psychic powers. The one show I am actually up to date with! It's great :) *keeps*
Ms. Vampire who lives in my neighborhood : Episode 3
This is a VERY SILLY moe show about a cute vampire girl and her cute female human friend who has a massive crush on her that is never going to go anywhere because this is moe. It's sometimes funny and fairly inoffensive but only worth the effort if you like femslashy vampires (and I do) *keeps*
That's enough for now but this was fun! Once I'm done with all...50 shows or whatever up there, I might tackle my AnimeLab and Netflix queues which are also pretty bad. Other posts:
