This weekend has been one long off-the-diet bender, but I don't care because it was awesome.

On Saturday I spent the day resting up since I'd been feeling under the weather and had a party in the evening (and thus had to miss [livejournal.com profile] grahame's picnic :( ) I had fun playing with Daz3D, a cool free 3d modelling program, though the free models this month don't allow much room for experimentation.

In the evening we went to [livejournal.com profile] mandragora2003's birthday party, which was heaps of fun (though [livejournal.com profile] nico_wolfwood's absence was sorely felt) There was [livejournal.com profile] distantcam, myself, [livejournal.com profile] mandragora2003, AlexM, Ghoti, [livejournal.com profile] delicious_irony and partner (whose name I have forgotten): all enthusiastic cat lovers, who spent ages talking about our cats and happily playing with and brushing [livejournal.com profile] mandragora2003's cats

And also [livejournal.com profile] gelignite...who's allergic to cats (also we all forgot her birthday) She tolerated us all with praise-worthy equinamity. From the other, marginally less cat-hair-infested side of the room.

Today was I and Cam's 6-month wedding anniversay. We spent most of it lazing around the house in a companiable way, then went and saw "A Death at a funeral", which was lots of fun. It felt like each character was was the main character of their own separate little movie, unware of the part they played in the paths of the characters around them (well, there were a couple of somewhat plot-devicey 2D characters, but they were at least consistent to themselves) Suprisingly heartwarming for a dark comedy about death, too :)

Then for dinner we went to Little Caesers, which was fantastic. A long drive though, and not many places to sit. If our pizzas are anything to go by they tend to cover things in extra flavourings not on the menu, which is very flavoursome but a little worrying to people with food issues. Luckily Cam's was the one covered in paprika, not mine.

Lots of vegeterian options too. For dessert Cam had the Black Forrest pizza, which was basically a thin, half-molten brownie on top of a pizza base, covered in melty chocolate pieces and cherry sauce with a big dollop of icecream. MMMmmmm. [livejournal.com profile] mandragora2003 really neds to try it (as does [livejournal.com profile] nico_wolfwood next time she's here on holiday) I took two bites and then sat there sadly staring at it while I ate my garden salad. Stupid dairy/chocolate/caffiene issues. (And tht's ignoring the fact that it's like bazillion Points(tm) a slice)

Anyway, I am happy now :)

I'm glad the cat and pizza components of the post were kept separate.

hmm, so does pizza have the same effect on cats as grass does on humans?

Not necessarily.

("I have no idea what you're talking about, so here's a picture of a cat with a pizza on its head...")
