So this icon has a double meaning ;)

When the psychiatrist showed up I thought "Oh! It's Owen from Torchwood!". And then at the end of the episode I thought "OH. IT'S OWEN FROM TORCHWOOD." I am surprised I stayed unspoiled on the casting given he's in Torchwood and Pacific Rim, it's a sign of how unpopular Forever is in my fannish circles. (Also I think I may have heard and forgotten) Otherwise I'm sure there'd be people discussing Adam meeting Hannibal at a psychiatrist conference, can you imagine. Plus crossovers with Highlander etc. And Adam meeting immortal!Owen haha.

I like Burn Gorman being a little guy, since people 2000 years ago were pretty small (probably a lot smaller than him but hey) I have decided he was Caesar's English bodyguard since it fits his character and also we know what Julius Caesar looked like and it was not like Burn Gorman. I had been thinking it unlikely he could find the exact knife that killed him but since it was historically important I guess that helped a lot.

Naturally I ship Adam/Henry a little in addition to Henry/Jo, though I don't feel SUPER shippy about either of them. I hope I encounter some good post canon fic exploring Jo's reaction to finding out the truth, shippy or otherwise.

I really enjoyed the overall arc of the season. I am a sucker for a good non linear story involving immortals or time travel. Yes, Abigail's death/absence was Henry's motivating man pain, and she was largely defined by her roles as wife and mother, but the relationship was really sweet, a proper marriage, and she got to go out in a pretty badass way for a 70 something. Also it all tied together with the Adam plot surprisingly well.

I feel like the "Henry remembers someone he knew a long time ago who he tried to help but they either died then or are just dead now because of the inevitable passing of time" button got pushed a little too often, and would have gotten tiring in a second season. Especially since Henry being a white upper class English man made the implications of a lot of them a little uncomfortable. (His straightness wasn't relevant because EVERYONE IN THIS UNIVERSE IS STRAIGHT, sigh)

Could have done with a bit less MADNESS = violent murderer, too. Though I guess I can be grateful we met no Terrifying Mad People in Bedlam, just terrifying doctors.
