2014 in review

1.What did you do in 2014 that you'd never done before?
BOUGHT. A. HOUSE. Also, went to PAX!
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Last years resolutions: (a) FIND A FRICKING HOUSE (b)Be more social (c)Look into paid or volunteer work. ACHIEVED :D Well, mostly.
This year...be more social. Learn to engage with people more sincerely and deeply.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Not that I can think of!
4. Did anyone close to you die?
No.
5. What countries did you visit?
Just Australia, but I did go over to Melbourne. (same as last year!)
6. What would you like to have in 2015 that you lacked in 2014?
Consistent health. (I mean good health would be better. But that's a bit optimistic)
7. What dates from 2014 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
HOUSE
9. What was your biggest failure?
Attempting to go off my anti anxiety meds and not collase in a complete heap :/ I mean I knew it might not work out, but I wasn't expecting to gain symptoms.
10. Did you suffer (new) illness or injury?
Yes, and I still have to get the test results back to tell me what it might be, yay!
11. What was the best thing you bought?
HOUSE
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
ME. FOR BUYING HOUSE.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
...let's say Tony Abbot.
14. Where did most of your money go?
HOUSE
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
HOUSE
16. What songs will always remind you of 2014?
"Blank Space", probably. It's the only song from this year that comes to mind. Also see the end of this post.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder? happier. Mainly because the end of last year was AWFUL.
b) thinner or fatter? About the same.
c) richer or poorer? Hmm...richer I guess! I mean we have this massive debt, but also HOUSE
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Once again, spending time with other people.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Once again, stressing! About different things than last year, though.
20. How will you be spending Christmas?
Spent it with my family, it was nice.
21. Did you fall in love in 2014?
Nope! Noone new anyway.
22. How many one-night stands?
Lol.
23. What was your favorite TV program?
Legend of Korra!
24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Nope. But I can't remember the last time I hated anyone.
25. What was the best book you read?
Either The Steerswoman or Ancillary Justice, they were both pretty great.
26. What was your greatest musical discovery?
I'm not sure I had any! I haven't listened to much music this year.
27. What did you want and get?
HOUSE. Also a job.
28. What did you want and not get?
Mental stability :/ Feel like I'm getting there though.
29. What was your favorite film of this year?
Hmm. Toss up between How to Train Your Dragon 2 and Guardians of the Galaxy. I didn't LOVE either of them but they were enjoyable.
30. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned 35 and went out for dim sum with part of the tiny subset of my friends and family that can eat it.
31. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
An anti anxiety med without unpleasant side effects.
32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2014?
Boring comfortable nerd girl stuff with some experiments with knee length dresses and cool socks.
33. What kept you sane?
Well, nothing kept me entirely sane, but Cameron helped me function and be as well balanced as I am capable of.
34. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Karen Gillan.
35. What political issue stirred you the most?
Been taking a bit of a break from politics but it's hard not to be moved and angry about all the stuff with Ferguson. And refugees, here. And uuurgghhh politics.
36. Who did you miss?
Everyone, spent a lot of this year curled up feeling too awful to engage.
37. Who was the best new person you met?
HMMMM. Did I meet
38. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2014.
I need to figure out when I'm feeling vulnerable or upset, and try and find environments/relationships where I feel able to admit it.
39. Something new that worked out really well for you during the year.
