I did not catch at first that some of these were reading recs! And was all, "There's a Joanna Russ TV show?? How the fuck did there come to be a Joanna Russ TV show?? And how come no one has ever said anything about to me!?!?"

Hee. Well, it's not like I thought that by the time a Joanna Russ TV show got network approval and commercial sponsors that it would be any good. ;-)

I've heard very good things about Lost Girl, and it even shows up on both lists!

You should DEFINITELY check it out. It's cheesy and sometimes pretty faily but I really enjoyed the first season and where else will you get a kickass crimefighting bisexual succubus?

I just watched the first two episodes, it seems interesting so far.

First season, and first half of second season are all kinds of awesome.

IMO, the second half of second season was not very good, with bits of utter fail.

The body-swap episode, however, was just made of total win.

From what I have heard so far of third season, it also has issues, though not necessarily the same ones as the previous half-season.

Still, I love it for that first 1.5 seasons.

Barbie murders not so much good LGBTI depiction, but good for world building with respect to individuals being able to modify their sex at will. At least that was my memory of it, given that people are murdered specifically because of their choices with respect to their gender identity. (hopefully that isn't spoilers - it is a long time since I've read it, and I *think* that comes out very early on).

Yes, that's Tanith Lee. It might be easier to find the single-volume collected edition, which is titled "Biting the Sun".
