Entering the pit of voles

So I decided the only reason I hadn't posted to fanfiction.net was snobbery and that was unfair on the poor huddling masses who might otherwise find some brief moment of joy reading my glorious and unique stories. Thus I uploaded a bunch of fic to ff.net, basically everything that's not a WiP or really short and insignificant. Notice that only left me with seven works as opposed to the forty(!) I have at AO3, I was reminded of how many of my stories are in comic form!

I immediately got a bunch of positive reviews which was nice, but mostly I'm enjoying the stats feature which is trivial but fun, seeing how many readers (say they) came from Canada or the Phillipines etc. My Dr Who fic is the only one not dominated by US readers, for some reason...

I tell you what: AO3 really is a lot better to use, especially for categorising and searching for fic.

Wow, I just went over to FFN and they've really added a lot of neat stuff to their stats.

I tend to be really lazy about uploading my fic there because it's such a pain in the ass. I just really hate the extra step of having to create a document and upload it, especially since I always type my fics as text files, but with html in them for italics and stuff, but that's not an acceptable format to upload, so it means I have to make a new file just for that. (Though a lot of my fic is NC-17 or RPF, neither of which are allowed anyway, so.)

Oh yes, I find that a pain too. Especially since I'm prone to fiddling with things indefinitely. I can see me not getting around to uploading my next new fic (whenever it gets written) there for a while.
