Yeah, I think it's kinda funny how fandom in generic seems to come down really hard on female characters, because I tend to see the awesome in female characters first, and even though I don't tend to have slash goggles, here were two awesome women kindasorta making eyes at each other. And generally being much more interesting and possibly fiction-provoking from my point of view than anything else on screen. (And I'll say I prefer Matt Smith to at least the later, handlebars David Tennant, but Smith doesn't make me think sex or romance or anything like that.)
