Anyone who's been to a Swancon: Y'all should do Tommmmo's Scifi movies quiz so he can run his panel.

Once you vote, have a look at the list I compiled of fannish movies from the last decade that when I think about them I get a heartwarming feeling of "Yes, that was a really awesome movie" (I couldn't think of any other measure I could apply consistently)

They're in reverse order of how strong a "this movie is awesome" feeling I get, and to vote I just chose the top 12.

I'm completely paralysed by requests to list "the best" or "my favourite" anything. I just listed films I liked until I hit the maximum of 12. I might have to print out the prompt list to serve as a basis for catching up on DVD.

I normally hate them too, but managed ok with this one by just cutting and pasting all the movies from his list that I really like and then asking myself "Do I REALLY like this movie? Are there any other movies I like just as much he hasn't listed?". It helps that the number of movies fitting that criteria was the same order of magnitude as the number of nominations I had to produce.

But yes, if I get too caught up in the question "Are these really the BEST movies?" I am paralysed.

Too many movies on that list that I've seen are duds for me to trust the ones I haven't seen to be good :)
