I used to be on a low milk-fat diet and then switched to no dairy at all. I can't eat soy, so have no idea about that.

So: did I miss any? Do people's opinions wildly differ?

Shops:
Amano gelato and Gelatino AWESOME sorbet. Nice gelato too, but it's not low fat. The Amano avocado and banana sorbets are absurdly creamy(*).
Il Gelato Sorbet is ok, but the gelato is quite nice and lowish in fat, and is cooked in such a way as it didn't set off my dairy intolerance too much.
Gelare Sorbet is kind of meh. They have some nice low fat icecreams and frozen yogurts.
New Zealand Icecream company Meh sorbets, but a nice low fat banana icecream.
Junction Icecreamery Midland: I must admit I was underwhelmed by their sorbet but everyone else seems to love it!

From the supermarket:
None of the many sorbets, frozen yogurts and low fat icecreams for sale really jump out at me, they're all kind of ok except for the Weightwatchers stuff which is mostly foul. But watch out for Bulla "Light and Creamy", it's actually quite fatty.

Gigi's Icecream is about the only soy AND dairy free icecream I know of (it's oat based), they're hard to find though. Some IGAs have them.

(*)I just had some Amano avocado sorbet with caramel sauce and french toast. It was amazing.

do you get mototo there (sorry, couldn't find a link)? It is dairy free, soy free and gluten free (not sure what it is made of, possibly air) and the chocolate one is delicious.

mototo is the product name and I have bought it from healthfood shops and also from some supermarkets (including coles at one time)

here is a link that shows what it looks like (http://www.lactose.com.au/products/mototo+premium+desserts/), but mototo don't appear to have their own site.

the best thing about it is that it tastes like real icecream.

have you tried gelativo? you can only get it from woolworths (AFAIK) and they have passionfruit, tropical, mango and lemon and lime flavours with no dairy/soy

I have no issues with dairy (well, none I want to pay attention to anyway), but I prefer sorbet over ice-cream any day. It's so much more refreshing. Ice-cream is always too sweet and cloying, but a good tart lemon sorbet or a yummy mango sorbet... *droolz*

Are Weiss bars an option for you? I *think* the fruit ones count as low fat, and are generally delicious.
