Also: I asked at JF about fanart and was persuaded to try DeviantArt out, here's my page. If nothing else the positive feedback from strangers is good for my ego, and I can steal their bandwidth for thumbnails etc :)


Just before I got my assignment for thelittlebang I had the sudden thought: this was a femslash challenge, so my picture should be femslashy eg maybe it should contain kissing or something. I'd never drawn kissing or anything explicitly romantic/sexual, what if I couldn't do it? Also, what if I had to draw fighting or violence or something serious? I've never been all that good at those either.

As it turned out the image I drew worked best with just significant looks, but thinking about it plus feeling hard done by that I had to draw a character based on Eliza Dushku without getting to draw her hair resulted in this image, which has been stewing in my brain for a bit waiting for me to feel inspired enough to draw it.

Because I was doing several things I'm not good at none of them got my total attention so it didn't work out perfectly but I'm happy enough. The proportions ended up funny, another thing I need to work on is getting my characters bodies to actually look like bodies rather than fleshed out stick figures.

Am I the only person who liked Faith/Wood? In both the canon comics and fic he's at best relegated to "Ex but still friends". EDIT: Ok, there is SOME fic and stuff on delicious. Not a lot though.
