I'm "alias" because sqbr is the lj-feed of my old blog.

I'm "sqbr" because of my childhood nickname of "square bear".

The rest of the answers are things people have guessed or assumed ("Satan's Quintessential Bagel Reamer" was the name I got at the cult of Dan(*)) apart from "Sophie's Quite Bad Ritings" and "Senatus Quadrum Bestia Risum" which I made up just now :)

Heh. The similarity to SPQR didn't occur to me until someone pointed it out a few years ago, which is partly what inspired that icon :)

So what's the right answer to the 'alias' part? I knew it was because of the RSS feed thing, but that's not exactly clear for any of the offered answer :S
(Hence choosing 'not real name' and 'sqbr was taken'.)

"sqbr was taken". Since otherwise I'd just be sqbr.

I see what you mean though, if you interpret "real name" as sqbr (it's a bit self referential that way). And now that I have the name I do sign off sometimes as "Sophie alias sqbr". Lucky I put checkboxes, eh? :)

I had no idea what sqbr stood for; now thanks to the spoilers I am enlightened. The other pressing issue is, how is it pronounced? In my mind I think of it as "squabber" (rhymes with "cobber").
