I have been inspired by
vegetus's recent cupcake recipe to mention some recipes. One of them is even vegan!
First, something healthy (
wintal, consider it a birthday present since you did ask for low fat savoury stuff :) ): I just discovered that microwaving one serve of cauliflower with some salt and freshly crushed garlic is nice, and very convenient.
The second is comparitively healthy. For chocolate truffles. Inspired by a mix of recipes similar to those on this page.
Low (milk) fat chocolate truffles
Ingredients:
Method:
Line a cake tin with baking paper.
Microwave milk in a large bowl until it boils. Mix in marshmallows and boil some more, then do the same with the peanut butter. Be Very Careful it doesn't boil over. Don't use a saucepan, it'll stick.
Mix in some of the dark chocolate (I used half of one of those thin Lindt blocks). Pour into tin and refrigerate.
Use as a filling with the rest of the chocolate. (I didn't go to all that bother, just used toothpicks to fill the moulds and ate them from the fridge before the chocolate had a chance to go wierd)
My childhood self would be aghast at my dinner: cauliflower, mashed roasted squash (a little round dark one, don't know it's name but it was yummy) which I finished and steak which I didn't. For dessert I had the remaining pumpkin mashed with skim milk, brown sugar and cinnamon. Mmm, goopy. Also some vita brits. The reason I didn't finish the steak was because I had overdosed on meat at lunch with a Dubrovniks kranski. Those sausages are great, and just down the road by Meltham train station.
Yes, I have finished dinner and dessert at 5:39, what's your point?
Spent today looking at houses, all of which were great in some ways and terrible in others. Also, I predict I will not make it to the end of Fandomedia without getting sick, there's just too many commitments (inc work) and worries. But as long as I make it to tommorrow night and graduate I don't really care :)
EDIT: Arr!
