Well, more like a music scene. You know, like "Yummy Fur are archetypical of the new "Perth Underground" style, which, like Seattle Grunge before it is breaking new ground with it's fusion of fast funky beats and old-school classical waltzes" :D

The again, most shows tend to be cancelled after a fairly short while, it's the rare show makes it past 5 seasons.
