Date: 2008-04-06 11:30 am (UTC)I found it funny because it works for political groups too: the cycles of new factions emerging as a reaction against orthodoxies and charismatic leaders in groups that were previously anti-heirarchal radicals themselves. I don't know that you can get around it though, because organising takes energy and those social frissions probably motivate a lot more people to invest energy in network building than they repel the nerdy anti-drama types like me.
