Kakadu national park is roughly the size of Israel.

(19000 km² vs 20769 km². It's also bigger than Fiji and New Jersey)

There was a plan in the 1940s to establish a new state of Israel in the northwest of WA, near Lake Argyll

Probably for the best they didn't in retrospect.
