'Ammonite' was absolutely a revelation to read, it was such an amazing book. I've fallen deeply in love with Nicola Griffith's work as a result.
I've also started recently reading 'Dykes to Watch Out For' by Alison Bechdel, and as someone who doesn't always enjoy comics, doesn't always enjoy comedy, I've found it delightful and funny - and it starts in a particular place, in a particular time period and it grows as the creator grows and changes, so previously misguided things adjust as time goes by in ways that I'm finding quite satisfying.
