Doctor Who: River Timeline, has transcript and meta

A timeline of those events of Doctor Who containing River Song, Amy, Rory, and the Eleventh Doctor with one possible timeline for River Song.

Because I tried writing fic and got VERY CONFUSED.

Anything I got obviously wrong? Any different theories?


Spoilery thought: I'm curious to see if they show us the moment when River Song meets Amy for the first time, since afaict Rory can't be with her at that point unless River is lying later when she claims not to recognise him. Of course it all gets very complicated with the time travel and him existing-but-not at that point. The other option is that he's part of her timestream like he is for Amy. Which means…what? She met him before becoming a time traveller I guess? Possible but unlikely. Heh. I could write a second version of my "Amy and River meet and get together during the "No Rory" period" story with Rory in and say that's what really happened.

Amy could have met Rory before she met the Doctor, couldn't she? they were childhood friends.

also, i'm not sure where post-Pandorica, pre-Doctor's-return 26-06-2010 River came from or what she knew.

You mean the one who gave Amy the diary? Or am I misremembering the episode?

Yeah I wasn't sure of that either but couldn't be bothered checking because I am lazy. (The very particular sort of lazy that makes complicated diagrams but doesn't feel like rewatching things :))

Yes, it's hard to tell much about her. I think she must have been aware of the Pandorica events to arrive so neatly at the right time.

I didn't notice that she didn't have a watch. I wonder what her story was or could have been? Does that imply that she's from our time?

that's what's so confusing about that appearance. but the Doctor very clearly gives her back the time travel device at the end of the episode, so she didn't have it then.
