The ABC has cancelled the Glass House! Even if you don't like the show: it appears to be the government shutting down a popular show purely for criticising the government, which is freaking scary. It's not like there's even any "balanced" tv political satire to replace it.

Finally: Is the lj Gizmo Talk thing worth using?

Saw "The Children of Men" last night, it was really good in a sad, understated sort of way. But it was probably unwise to watch it with people whose opinions on immigration infuriate me(*).

I would consider typing more, but I burnt my finger cooking dinner.

(*)It's quite hard to make me infuriated, but racism and callousness to the the underprivileged give you a definite head start.

Well, that's stupid. I can't say it hasn't got stale, Wil drives me mad. There really needs to be more Chaser - they might not give the polly's the outright respect they want, but that's Aussie.

Gizmo thing is lame. Really, just pointless. No-one's ever on it, and it's a very unpretty form of communication.

I feel sorry for you and your finger, but I do it so often, all I can think is "Yay! Not alone!"

Ah, but since it uses XMPP, you can add Google talk or other jabber contacts, for example UCC has a jabber server, and Sophie could add trs80@ucc.asn.au to talk to me. And a lot of people have Google accounts, particularly now it's integrated into Gmail. Finally, the UCC jabber server exports the door status information so you can see if Cameron Hall is open.

Couldn't the reverse also be true? Using gtalk to add lj talk contacts?
That said, I'm using Miranda (miranda-im.org) as my multi-IM client of choice.

Actually I do, in theory. I downloaded it at the insistence of a gtalking friend, but haven't used it since our first and last session. I even mentioned it in my lj!
