8 – Do you design OCs? And if so, are they a kind of self-insert/portrait, e.g. a portrait of a non-canon character you play in an fandom-based RPG or a fursona?

For comics, all the time. For example, Mafdet Slayer of Serpents is a Stargate SG1 comic with an entirely original cast of ancient Egyptians and Gu'auld (and a cat) As you can see my comic art at the time was very much generic person + clothes/hair/skin colour but I did put some thought into the design based on research into canon and history.

"Self Insert" and "original character" are two different things for me, I'm as likely to identify with canon characters as my own. I have drawn a lot of art of my PCs from computer RPGs (Dragon Age etc), but they're not entirely original and I don't usually think of them as reflections of myself (my first Dragon Age character was, a bit, and it made playing the game weird, so I didn't do that again)

Outside of comics and RPG PCs, hmm…
Urthemiel, Morrigan's daughter from Dragon Age, is basically an OC, I tried to extrapolate her appearance from what I knew of her parents/the world etc. I can't think of any others.
