Signs you're not feeling very well
Jul. 10th, 2010 09:50 amMe: So, how was Wednesday night gaming?
Cam: *raises eyebrow*
Me: Oh, wait, yeah. Sorry. Not feeling very well.
Cam: Me neither, I think I have your cold.
Me: Do you think you'll go in to work?
Cam: *raises eyebrow again*
Me: It's Saturday isn't it? *sigh*
I've been trying to get over my mental block of writing romantic scenes (I like reading them, and noone writes them for a lot of the pairings I like) but I keep going ok and then stopping and having to write "character talks about their feelings honestly here". I think this is why I like Morrigan and Zevran from Dragon Age, they're not big on honestly talking about their feelings (well, not the soppy ones, the "Yay I like murdering people" ones they're ok on), but I still suck at describing makeouts etc (I am thus far happy to have all my sex scenes be fades to black). Or, well, anything that isn't dialogue really. I'm a lot better at drawing romantic clinches etc but the problem with that is there's always the chance of, say, my mother (or some other less embarrassing but more plausible person) randomly looking at my journal and going "IS THAT KISSING??". People are much less likely to wade through my dialogue to get to any steamy scenes unless it's something they want to read. *is neurotic and repressed, but you knew that*
(The connection between these two paragraphs is I'm keeping myself from making more of an idiot of myself on the internet by drawing, and what I'm currently drawing is a comic with omg kissing as well as mildly shmoopy dialogue in it and it is hard)
Once I feel able to write romantic stuff the next thing I want to work on is descriptions of places etc. Much less embarrassing, but also probably a bit dull :)
